Surgery delayed

I got a letter last week that my surgery is being delayed by at least a few months. I had originally been told it would happen in late February, but it now looks more likely to be in the summer.

It seems that my surgeon has taken a few months leave of absence. Another bariatric surgeon from the UK has taken over during the leave period, but for some reason he doesn’t want to take on the cases already lined up for the surgeon on leave.

It’s all terribly frustrating.

So for now my surgery is on hold. I have to wait until my surgeon comes back from their leave, and then see when they can schedule me in.

Until then it’s a waiting game…
